- Amir-Iakhur
- Literally, "commander of horse." This was the designation of the superintendent of the sultan's stables in the Delhi sultanate. The office was held by Qutb al-Din Aibak prior to his appointment to the conquered territory in India. The same office during the reign of Raziya Sultan (1236-1240) was held by an Abyssinian, Jamal al-Din Yaqut. Favors shown by Raziya to him sparked off a revolt by the nobles, leading to her ouster and violent death in 1240.
